This Month’s VPS Recommendation
I recently stumbled upon a VPS provider I had never used before – at the behest recommendation from one of my acquaintances, so I naturally made it my business to test their service.
As of today I have only been using their service for exactly ten days, but I’m already confident enough to give them my full endorsement!
So who are they? The company is DigtalOcean:
From what I can gather the company was founded in 2012, so it is quite young, but highly successful, having been featured in e-zines such as Forbes, TechCrunch, PandoDaily and in TheNextWeb.
They currently offer ten plans — the cheapest going for a meager five bucks a month (or $0.007 per hour). Services can be deployed in NY, Amsterdam and San Francisco.
You may deploy from the following Linux distributions:
- Ubuntu
- CentOS
- Debian
- Arch Linux
- Fedora
As for support, I cannot really comment on it (yet), because I rarely need any. But as time goes on I’ll see if there is anything I can write on that subject. I can’t praise something I know nothing about, or have never been in need for via this company, now, can I?
I can say this: I am truthfully very happy with their service so far and I will definitively use them for a couple of my projects — a pool of VPNs so far, and some nodejs stuff. This company is highly recommended by me.
So, a big thumbs up for DigitalOcean!
Are they using servercentral for their datacenter?
I don’t know, Mr, Masi. My server is on their node.
Fix: my server _used_ to be on servercentral, but not any more. I moved k0nsl.org from it.
This is certainly definitely decent!! Thank you and maintain this very good work!
